Prediction League & Match Preview - HKPL Match 6 - Yuen Long vs Kitchee

Sunday sees Kitchee travel north to Yuen Long to take on the Tangerines in what should be a captivating match.

Last season, this fixture saw the Bluewaves run out 4-1 winners and few would bet against a similar scoreline again with the Orange Men currently on a 3 match losing streak having struggled at the start of the season and currently find themselves languishing in 7th place. Losses against Eastern, R&F, Dreams and Southern probably highlight that Yuen Long will not be making the step up that many fans of the district team would have hoped for following an impressive campaign last time around.

Local Fan Carmen Lai had this to say about the disappointing start to the Season - "obviously, its not been what the fans had hoped for. After the success we had last year and the increased budget for this season we had hoped that we could be challenging for 2nd or 3rd place but, realistically, we are now more likely to finish in 5th or 6th. The poor start has largely been down to the amount of injuries the team has suffered - key players such as Kwon Jai, Ticao and Yip Tsz Chun have all been out and that has been a real blow but hopefully they will come back soon. Our star man is Brazilian Everton Camargo. He's yet to score in the league this season but had a great campaign for Glory Sky last season, scoring 10 goals, so is definitely one to watch out for. In terms of predictions, i think Kitchee will run out 3:1 winners but hope for a surprise result!"

Kitchee will hope to carry on their undefeated start to the season and build on their impressive 4-1 victory versus Lee Man. With many first 11 players featuring in the HK national side games against Lebanon and Bahrain it may be that the Bluewaves are a little jaded after a busy week. However, with players like Lum, Lam and Vadocz having had the opportunity to rest this should be a straight forward match. With the canter of the Hong Kong horse appearing to have slowed down, this may now be an opportunity for Kitchee to put some breathing space between themselves and the rest of the league before the start of the ACL in February.

Angry Boundary is going for a comfortable 4-1 victory for Kitchee. We haven't been as solid at the back as we should be and appear to be letting in sloppy goals so can't predict a clean sheet. However, we should have enough up front to score plenty of goals of our own. As usual, we will stick with our prediction that Kristian Vadocz will score first.

What do our panel think the score will be?
