Kitchee Terrorize Terrible Tangerines - 3:0 - Prediction league results - Match 6

Kitchee Terrorize Terrible Tangerines

Some terrible defending from Yuen Long handed Kitchee the 3 points on Saturday as the Bluewave's triumphed 3-0 over the Tangerines.

With a good travelling contingent roaring them on in the New Territories, Kitchee had multiple chances early on and had a Lucas header disallowed before the burly Brazilian finally broke the deadlock after 23 minutes when a Huang Yang cross/shot was deflected into his pass for him to slip the ball past the keeper, Chan Ka Ho.

Early in the second half, Alex Akande continued his good recent goal scoring form and netted his 5th in 4 games headed in from a corner from point blank range. Whilst it was undoubtedly a good delivery from Matt Lam, the Yuen Long defence should be looking at themselves and wondering how the 5 foot 9 striker managed to out jump their entire defence and head in with such ease.  Chan Ka Ho was also not free from fault as he seemed stuck on his line - seemingly expecting defence to clear - rather than coming to claim a ball inside his 6 yard box.

Kitchee had more chances, the most notable being Alex missing the chance to take a brace of goals by hitting the bar from close range, but did not add to their scoreline again until the 73rd minute when more defensive errors from a corner allowed Kristian Vadocz to poke in from close range.  Yuen Long have conceded 11 goals in their last 4 premier league games and their manager, Tasng Chiu Tat, really needs to address these defensive weaknesses as soon as possible.

Kitchee had more chances to add to their tally but actually it was Yuen Long that nearly grabbed the game's last goal - with them shooting just wide of the post.

A simple enough victory for Kitchee who will be glad to have put 3 points between themselves and the Hong Kong horse ahead of a difficult trip away to R&F this weekend.

How does this affect our prediction league?

A number of readers correctly predicted that Kitchee would win 3-0 but only Bill Chan was completely right, predicting both the 3 goal margin and Lucas opening the scoring.  Billy gets a 6 point haul for the week which sees him move to the top of the table.   Angry Boundary Street correctly predicted a 3 goal margin but thought it would be 4-1 rather than 3-0 and so only pick up the one point for this week - moving down in to second.  Yuen, Richard and Taka all also came up with the right scoreline but failed to pick Lucas as first scorer.

Next match: Kitchee venture into China for the away match versus Guangzhou R&F.
