Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's about attending Kitchee games:

Q: How can I get tickets?

A: League games are rarely, if ever, sold out. The only time in recent years where a league game did sell out was the title decider versus Eastern on the last day of the 2016/2017 season. Ordinarily, a Kitchee game at Mong Kok stadium attracts around 4,000 fans - just over 50% full - so there is plenty of room for you to come!!!
You can buy tickets from the ground itself. Tickets are 150HKD for adults for Kitchee home games (away matches are generally around 70-80HKD), with discounts for children, students and OAPs.  Further discount is available if you are a Kitchee member (see below).

Q: How do I get to the stadium?

A: Its easy! Take the MTR to Prince Edward station - which is on either the Tsuen Wan (Red) or Kwun Tong line (Green).  See our guide - How to get to Mong Kok Stadium - for a map and more precise details.

Q: I heard that locals don't bother with Hong Kong football because it is rubbish, is that true?

A: Of course it's not as good as the top leagues in Europe, but the level is improving all the time and watching live matches is what matters. The football played is entertaining and teams like Kitchee and Eastern have developed a real rivalry. Despite the sad loss or SCAA, teams like R&F, Southern and Yuen Long are also improving so the league itself should continue to get more and more competitive.

Q. When does the season run?

A. The season just about mirrors the English football season, so runs from late August through to April/May.

Q. I like to sing at the match. How do I get to stand in the Ultras section?

A. No seats are reserved so you can sit wherever you like in the stadium. The Bluewave Ultras area tends to fill up maybe 20-30 minutes before kick off but plenty of people stand on the stairs or in the aisle. If you would like to join us, just come along and say hi.

Q. Is there such a thing as a club membership?

A. Yes, you can buy a 2018/2019 membership for HKD$320 (there is a discount if you are renewing).  Membership entitles you to one free league game as well as discounted league and ACL tickets and other benefits - such as the ability to book pitches at the Jockey Club Kitchee Centre, a HKD$50 voucher for discount off replica jerseys and 10% off in the club shop generally.  Due to the cost, this is probably only really attractive if you are thinking of attending regularly. Memberships are only sold during the first few games of the season.

Q. How do I get a season ticket?

A. Yes! There are two options - a 4 game package and an 9 game package.  You can purchase the 9 game package for HKD$1100 or 4 games for HKD$600 - both include the cost of membership.  Our understanding is that the tickets are general vouchers which are not match specific, so if you are unable to attend a particular game you could use the spare voucher to bring a friend to the next match.

Q. Where can I buy Kitchee team jerseys and merchandise?

A.  There is usually a pop-up store at Mong Kok stadium for each and every home game, which will sell Scarves, T-shirts and Replica Jerseys. This is in-front of the stadium as you enter off of Flower Market Road.  The selection may be limited at times (particularly if you want a Replica Shirt and require a larger "Western" size) so if you struggle, you can also check out the store at the Kitchee Centre in Shek Mun (where the players train). They have a fantastic selection of both current and previous season's Kitchee merchandise.

Q.  Where can I get some food and drink before the game?

A.  As you walk to the ground from Prince Edward Station Exit A on Playing Field Road, there are plenty of options on both Tung Choi and Fa Yuen street - ranging from excellent Dim Sum places (One Dim Sum) to other local joints to late night bars and clubs.  if it is an early kick off (14:30) then the only place open for a beer usually is Future Lounge.  That's where you will find me - mine is a pint of Blue Girl.
