Kitchee Korean Tour

Kitchee kicked off their pre-season preparations with a week long tour of Korea.  During the week, the Bluewaves played 3 teams from each of the Korean divisions - Incheon from the K League Classic (the top division), Hwasung from K League 2 and Bucheon from K League 3.

Kitchee began the tour with a deserved 1-0 win over Incheon following a great goal from Kristian Vadocz. It was a really well taken goal, following good build up play involving Fernando and Sandro.

The second match was against Hwasung. It what seemed to be a game of many chances, Kitchee were unlucky not to go ahead after Vadocz headed just over following an early corner.  However, the home took the lead after 30 minutes and increased their lead just after half time, beating Wang Zheng Pang with a ferocious shot at his near post. Alex scored for Kitchee at the second attempt, after originally shooting straight at the goalkeeper, but Hwasung were awarded a dubious penalty to re-instate their 2 goal lead.

In the final game, against Bucheon, Kitchee again went down 3-1 to the local side. Encouragingly, Vadocz scored again for Kitchee. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Its fantastic news that the Hungarian has signed on for another season in Hong Kong and the feeling is that he will be a real asset when the ACL games start to come thick and fast.

Hopefully the Korean Tour has been a good work out for the boys, it will have been good for a number of the players to get some game time under their belts - particularly Lucas who looks as if he may have had too much of an enjoyable summer! Most importantly, no one appeared to pick up any injuries and should all be fit for the start of the season - whenever that is!!

We'll let you know if any local friendlies are arranged. An un-friendly versus SCAA would certainly be very much welcomed!!!
