Prediction League - Game 8 - Rangers 0 v Kitchee 6 - Kitchee smash six and leave hopeless Rangers in bits

Kitchee smash six and leave hopeless Rangers in bits

Kitchee tore apart a hapless BC Rangers at Sham Shui Po sports ground on a day where a 6 goal margin really did not flatter the super Bluewaves. In what must surely be a Hong Kong (and maybe international) football record, six different Kitchee players made the score sheet and secured a convincing 6 v 0  for the reigning champions. In reality the margin between the two teams could have been even greater as Kitchee missed some good chances, with a number of shots coming back off the post and bar, and with Rangers only have a small number of opportunities to notch a goal for themselves.

As usual Vadocz was at the heart of everything good for Kitchee and it was his ball to Lo Kwan Yee that resulted in the first goal, with the right back cutting in from the right side to drill a left footed shot into the net. A great goal for the veteran player and one which none of the Angry Boundary Street faithful saw coming!  Alex and Sandro added two goals before the break. with Sandro slotting home from the spot, as Kitchee went into Half time with a comfortable 3 goal margin.

After the break it was business as usual and Kitchee, who had 22 shots on goal and enjoyed nearly 80% possession, added a further three goals through Vadocz, Chris Annan and  Matt Lam.  Rangers did have two good chances late on to try and reduce the deficit (their only shots on goal of the mathc) but Tommy Chuck and Walter Vaz both failed to convert.

What does that mean for the prediction league? Well, no one saw Lo Kwan Yee's goal coming which means that no one gains the bonus points for guessing first scorer correctly. Matt Lam's 92nd Minute Goal ruined Angry Boundary Street's prediction (and a couple of others) and meant that only Tim was correct in guessing a 6-0 victory. This moves Tim up to 9th in the table and within touching distance of Billy Chan at the top of the league.

Next match vs Southern on Sunday 14th January at 1730.
