The match itself gave Alex Chu a chance to give a run out to some of the more peripheral figures in the team and this saw Alex starting upfront. The Nigerian born HKer took his chance superbly well, looking a threat all game and scoring the opener with a great header from a corner. Ghanaian Chris Annan was another given a chance up front and he also gave Chu a reminder of what he might be missing by scoring from close range after a great cross by Dani Cancela. These goals came either side of a well stuck shot from 30 yards by Lo Kwong Wai which beat Kitchee reserve 'keeper Guo Jianqiao at his far post, giving Eastern a short period of hope.
The match finished 2-1 and was a deserved victory for Kitchee.
In terms of the prediction league, its a mixed week for the Angry Boundary Street panel with quite a few of our readers predicting that the game might finish even in normal time or (perish the thought) that Eastern might win. However, Billy Chan, Kent Yim and Angry Boundary Street all managed to predict the correct 2:1 score line.
Keith and Richard managed to predict that it would be Alex who scored Kitchee's opener and so take home 2 bonus points. Keith has so far managed to predict the correct scorer for Kitchee in 3 out of their first 4 matches - if only he could place bets at the Jockey Club!
After the first 4 weeks, the prediction league looks like this:
The next match is against R&F away at Hammer Hill.
