Match Preview & Predictions - League Match 4 - Kitchee v Tai Po

After a three week break, and much to the relief of their fans, Kitchee return to league action this weekend with a match against 2nd in the league Wofoo Tai Po. The game takes place at Mongkok Stadium on Saturday at 5:30pm and will be a good test of both team's title aspirations.
Despite playing all of their games so far this season away from home (due to their home ground being under renovation), Tai Po have made an excellent start to the campaign and find themselves in second place after taking 8 point from a possible 12.  However, many will be wondering if they are in a slightly false position as both of their victories have come against teams struggling at the wrong end of the table (BC Rangers and the atrocious Eastern).  Nonetheless, away draws with Lee Man and Dreams (both of whom are doing far better than expected) so Kitchee would do well not to take the Greens lightly.
The most impressive thing about Tai Po so far is the variety of goal scorers they possess. Already this season they have seen 6 different names on the score sheet. Their impressive play down the wings has been singled out by Kitchee defender Bong as a particular strength and the Bluewave's back four will need to be in good form in order to keep a clean sheet.
The game against Tai Po is particularly important for Lucas.  The Brazilian made his name whilst playing for Tai Po and was instrumental in their cup victory last season and fans were very upset when he made the move from Tai Po to Shek Mun.  Lucas, despite already having scored 4 goals this season (albeit, all in one game), has made a mixed start to the season and will be keen to impress against his former employers and remind them of what they are missing.
In all, we think Kitchee will be relatively confident of taking the points.  Despite them being relatively close matches, they took 6 points from the two games against Tai Po last season and I can't see why there would be any change to that this year.
Angry Boundary Street predicts a closely fought 2-1 win with Vadocz scoring first.
What do the other members of our prediction league think? Well, as usual, all but one member is predicting 3 points for Kitchee with most going for at least a 2 goal margin. Most are predicting that Lucas will break the deadlock against his former team.
Let's see. Here's hoping for three points!
See you Saturday!!!
